City Hero drops you into Vice Town, a busy urban playground filled with rooftops, streets, alleys, and enemies. Super strength, fast movement, powerful jumps, and a swinging rope give your blue-suited hero plenty of ways to move around the city.
Rooftops become more than places to explore. The rope lets you travel between buildings and reach parts of the city that would take much longer to reach on foot. Streets and alleys bring different challenges, with gangster missions giving your exploration a clear purpose.

City Hero mixes free exploration with mission-based action. Rooftops offer quick routes across Vice Town, while streets and hidden alleys lead toward objectives and encounters. The rope-swinging system gives traversal its strongest identity. Super strength and agile movement add more options during missions, while weapons become useful when encounters turn more demanding.
Your Hero Your Gear
Progression gives the superhero more than new challenges. Unlockable outfits and gear let you change the look of your character while adding another reason to keep exploring Vice Town. Weapons also give the action some variety, with blasters and melee tools available for different situations. The combination of movement abilities and equipment makes the city feel less restrictive than a typical street-based action game.
